With the turbulent events of Belarus, the Nagorno-Karabakh armed conflict, the ongoing war and aggression in Ukraine, and definitely not the least owing to the pandemic, our world turned upside down since the previous CATference held in Belgrade in 2019. Therefore, with all these critical and aching issues around us, we are not willing to delimit the conference – neither thematically (to one single focal point), nor geographically (to certain parts of the post-socialist realm). Instead, we are encouraging participants to place their emphasis on fault-lines in/between post/socialist cities – let those be political, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, income, institutional, il/liberal, mental, or any other sorts of fault-lines. In addition to these suggestions, any other CAT-ty session proposals and abstract submissions are also welcome.
Please submit your SESSION PROPOSALS by 30 April, by filling in this form.
Please submit your ABSTRACT(S) by 15 May, by filling in this form.

CONFERENCE VENUE
H-1117 Budapest, Pázmány Péter sétány 1A & 1C
(27 June – building 1A; 28–29 June – building 1C)
The Budapest CATference will be held at the Danube waterfront campus of Eötvös Loránd University, situated in one of the most rapidly changing neighbourhoods of the Hungarian capital. Therefore, in the form of shorter (2–2,5 hours) field trips, this venue allows conference participants for an in-situ observation of several current urban transformation processes of various districts of post-socialist Budapest (such as waterfront transformations, brownfield regeneration, or gentrification).
We are thrilled to meet you in Budapest!
