"Geographical Knowledge in Local Context and Global Entanglement" international conference at the Eötvös József Collegium |

On 3–4 September 2026, the Eötvös József Collegium at ELTE will host an international conference entitled ‘Geographical Knowledge in Local Context and Global Entanglement’, which will focus on the interconnections between the local and global contexts of geographical knowledge. Through presentations by renowned international researchers, the event will offer an insight into exciting chapters in the history of geography. The conference is organised by Ferenc Gyuris, Róbert Győri, Norman Henniges and Tobit Nauheim, in collaboration with the Department of Social and Economic Geography of ELTE, Humboldt University of Berlin, the Hungarian Geographical Society and the German Working Group on the History of Geography, with the support of the Berlin Geographical Society's HRP-Foundation.
