Ferenc Gyuris's guest lecture in Passau

On January 24, 2025, Ferenc Gyuris held a guest lecture at the Research Colloquium of the University of Passau, Department of Critical Development Studies - Southeast Asia. The talk under the title of “Negotiating Colonization on the Global Semi-Periphery: Hungarian Geographers’ Narratives in the Late 19th Century” focused on the role scholars in the global semi-periphery play in international academic knowledge production and employed late-19th-century Hungarian geographers’ narratives of the global geographical and colonial discourses as a case study.
