The Role of Geography in the Creation of Burgenland
An article by Dr. Róbert Győri and Dr. Ferenc Jankó, associate professors, entitled Burgenland or West-Hungary: The Aspirations and Limits of Astrian and Hungarian Geography, 1918–1938 was published in the July 2022 issue of the Journal of Historical Geography (Vol. 77). In their publication, the authors examine the role played by geographical knowledge in the territorial and political dispute between Austria and Hungary over the affiliation of Burgenland (or West Hungary) in the period following the First World War.
