Dániel Zách's conference-presentation in Kiruna
Our department's doctoral student, Dániel Zách participated in the triennial congress of TICCIH (The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage), which was held in Kiruna, Sweden between August 25 and 30 this year. The title of his presentation related to his doctoral research was: The mining and industrial heritage of former socialist towns, on the example of some Hungarian cases.
In addition to the lectures, the program of the event also included panel discussions and professional excursions. The main topics of this year's congress were: new town construction, the impact of underground mining on settlement structure, the relationship between power and local community, the increasing geopolitical importance of the Arctic, and the problems of indigenous communities.
